Skill & Livelihood

Vision Entrepreneurship Program

KKF has become, in partnership with Vision Spring, the pioneer in the State of Odisha in ensuring that people coming from the disadvantaged sections of the society do not suffer from avoidable blindness and other such eye-related ailments.

Through this initiative, we have created a cadre of self-reliant volunteers called the ‘Vision Entrepreneurs’, who share and actively work towards our goal of eliminating avoidable blindness and other eye-related ailments; while earning decent livelihood for themselves.

Several eye check-ups camps have also been organized and have distributed free reading glasses to those in need, and at a very affordable price to those who can pay.

Cluster Development under SFURTI

With the objective of enhancing productivity, competitiveness, and promoting sustainable development of traditional industries, KKF is implementing the Sinapali Handloom Cluster in Nuapada district of Odisha under the SFURTI (Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries), an initiative of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.

This project aims to empower over 550 rural artisans by enabling them to continue practicing their traditional art and craft in a more structured and sustainable manner. KKF will facilitate skill enhancement programs, while also providing the necessary resources, infrastructure, and training support to boost the artisans’ capabilities and improve market linkages.

Rural Livelihood Enhancement

With generous support from Vedanta Limited CSR, we are working to establish a comprehensive and self-sustaining ecosystem for goat-rearing families in the Lanjigarh Block of Kalahandi district, Odisha. This initiative currently engages 100 Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) families, aiming to enhance their livelihood through structured and sustainable goat-rearing practices.

The program focuses on developing a thriving goat cluster, supported by capacity-building efforts in veterinary care and complementary activities such as fodder cultivation, organic manure production, and breed improvement. Each participating family has been provided with a pair of goats, along with continuous technical guidance and support, ensuring they are well-equipped to succeed and sustain this livelihood over time.
