Dr. Rakesh Mohanty is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science, VSS University of Technology (VSSUT), formerly UCE Burla. Dr. Mohanty’s dynamism and commitment for society is reflected in myriad ways; most of all through his association with Kalinga Kusum. In addition, he has made profuse contribution to the society through activities such as Career counseling and guidance to several fellow students and juniors for the last 15 years, being Executive Committee Member of a rural youth forum “Jagrutee” in his native village. Jagrutee organizes competitions among school children to promote rural talents, organizes workshops, seminars and events in college as well as schools for benefits of the students on behalf of different associations, etc.
Rakesh holds a Ph.D. from IIT, Chennai, an M. Tech. from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from VSSUT. His passion in life remains improving living standards of rural people with the use of IT.
Mr. Behera started his career as a project engineer for community based program in rural Odisha, working with different programs of United Nation Development Program (UNDP) and Govt. of Odisha, in various capacities, for 5 long years before the entrepreneurial bug hit him. Mr. Behera has received international training on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) from PRAXIS International, headed diversified professional teams for different community based development programs in Odisha, and has been part of many national teams for livelihood and damage assessments of UNDP/Govt. of Orissa. One of his initiatives was short-listed for Development Marketplace (DM) Award by World Bank in 2008. His 12+ years of experience in the field of development and entrepreneurship, coupled with his keen insight on human psychology will add immense value to the organization.
Mr. Behera is a Graduate Engineer from Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT).
Dibya brings experiences ranging from non-profit management, development consultancy, and corporate career to entrepreneurial ventures. He has been playing a monumental role in streamlining the operations and developing various initiatives and programs at Kalinga Kusum.
He holds a B.Tech degree in Agricultural Engineering from OUAT, Odisha and an MBA from IBCS, Bhubaneswar.
Swati has completed Diploma in Business Management from (ICFAI) & B.Com. from Mumbai University.
Priyadarshi is an alumnus of National Institute of Technology Durgapur and Teach for India. She also holds post graduate diplomas in Sustainable Rural Development from NIRD, Hyderabad and Business Management from University of Hyderabad. She is also certified in Social Entrepreneurship and NGO management. She nurtures a deep commitment towards the society and environment. Her interest areas are Education, Child Rights and Women Economic and Social Empowerment. Besides she is also an Yoga facilitator at the Art of Living Foundation.
Swati completed her MA in Political Science from Khallikote(A) College, Berhampur. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management from IGNOU. She brings 13 years of social sector work experience to the table with interest areas spanning Women Empowerment, Child Rights, Health, Education, Panchayat Raj and Gender. In addition she is a recognized anchor of DD(Odia). She has also published two books for children which were selected for Raja Rammohan Roy foundation.
Siddharth has completed his B.A.LL.B (Hons.) in Criminal Law and Science from National Law University, Odisha. He brings with him the experience of working with several NGOs, Think Tanks and start-ups in various capacities over the years with interest areas spanning from Child Rights, Education and Welfare to Women Health and Empowerment. Besides, he is an avid traveler, amateur photographer and an athlete.
Kalinga Kusum Foundation's mission is the socio-economic and legal empowerment of those living on the edges of society, with a special focus on children, women and tribal.
